PROTEA SKIRT - Blue flowers
This skirt is a zero waste design with a paperbag look. It's derived from a rectangle with the fabric width as a base. Metal snap fasteners are used to create an oversized pleat and with the belt you can adjust the skirt to your waist. As cherry on the cake there are pockets in the side seam. The inspiration for this design is the Protea flower, whose floral bracts envelop the actual flower, just like this skirt wraps around you.
The skirt is also wearable as a mini dress (see the striped variant for some pictures).
FABRICS: Silk blue brocade with flowers (leftovers production), Mustard cotton by Anne Kurris (@ The Fabric Sales).
